Loyalty stamps — the simplest reward program that works

Why digital stamp cards beat points-based loyalty for restaurants — the psychology, the setup, and the one mistake most operators make.

Loyalty stamps — the simplest reward program that works

Most loyalty programs fail because customers don't understand them. Points, tiers, multipliers, expiry rules — by the time you've explained, the customer has stopped listening. Stamps fix that.

How it works

Every visit, the guest gets a digital stamp on their phone. Ten stamps = a free item of your choosing. That's it. There's nothing else to explain.

Why it works

Goal-gradient effect: humans accelerate towards a finish line they can see. Showing 7 of 10 stamps is psychologically more powerful than showing 700 of 1000 points, even though the math is identical.

Setting it up in Restpy

From Marketing → Loyalty Stamps, set your stamp count (we recommend 8–12) and the reward (a specific item works better than a discount percentage — choose your most photogenic dessert). Print a small QR card for the table tent that says "scan after your meal to collect a stamp" and you're live.
